RRB NTPC CBT 1 Scoring Strategy
Exam Pattern (CBT 1)
- Total Questions: 100 | Duration: 90 minutes
- Mathematics: 30 questions
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 questions
- General Awareness: 40 questions
- Negative Marking: 1/3 per wrong answer
Section-wise Strategy
General Awareness (40 Qs — attempt 30+):
- Static GK carries ~50% weightage — study thoroughly
- Railway GK is unique to RRB — 5–8 questions always come from it
- Current Affairs: last 6 months is sufficient
- Time: Spend only 20 minutes on this section (40 seconds/question)
Reasoning (30 Qs — attempt 25+):
- RRB reasoning is easier than banking exams
- Analogies, Series, Coding-Decoding, Mirror Image are most common
- Avoid complex puzzles if time is short — come back later
- Time: 25 minutes
Mathematics (30 Qs — attempt 22+):
- Simplification, Percentage, SI/CI, Ratio, Time & Work — high frequency
- Geometry is relatively less — 2–3 questions only
- Skip difficult problems — do not waste more than 2 min per question
- Time: 45 minutes
Target Score
To safely qualify CBT 1: Score 75+ out of 100 (General category). Competitive candidates typically score 80–88. Focus on GA as it is the fastest to attempt.
