SSC MTS 2026 Syllabus
SSC MTS 2026 is conducted in two sessions in a single sitting.
Session-I: Objective (90 minutes, 150 marks)
1. Numerical and Mathematical Ability (20 Qs, 60 marks)
- Whole Numbers, Decimals, Fractions, LCM & HCF
- Square Roots, Cube Roots, Indices & Surds
- Ratio and Proportion, Averages
- Simple and Compound Interest, Profit, Loss and Discount
- Time and Work, Pipes and Cisterns
- Time, Distance and Speed, Boats and Streams
- Basic Geometry, Basic Algebra, Mensuration
2. Reasoning Ability & Problem Solving (20 Qs, 60 marks)
- Semantic Analogy, Symbolic & Number Analogy
- Semantic Classification, Number Series
- Problem Solving, Coding-Decoding
- Relationship, Venn Diagrams, Directions
- Similarities and Differences, Spatial Orientation
3. General Awareness (25 Qs, 75 marks — in Session-II slot)
- India and its Neighbouring Countries: History, Geography, Culture
- Polity, Constitution, Scientific Research
- Award and Sports, Current Affairs (National & International)
- Economics, Books, Persons in News
Session-II: Descriptive (45 minutes, 50 marks)
Candidates must score minimum 20/50 (SC/ST: 18/50) to qualify.
- Short Essay/Letter in English or any language from 8th Schedule of Constitution
- Essay: 150-200 words on social issues, governance, environmental topics
- Letter: Formal or semi-formal
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for Havaldar posts
- Male: Walk/Run 1600 metres in 15 minutes
- Female: Walk/Run 1 km in 20 minutes
